A burglary attempt was foiled at Velsao by some fisherwomen on Saturday. The fisherwomen have received appreciation for showing presence of mind in averting a potential burglary and loss to the owner of the establishment.
The incident happened in Velsao wherein a fisherwoman upon noticing that a show is being robber immediately called one of the shop owner. The courageous fisherwoman waited outside the shop till the owner could arrive.
The presence of the women scared the burglars who later fled the spot. The buglers managed to open three shops including Velsao sports club, a grocery shop and a tailoring shop.
Social worker Roquezinho D’Souza demanded intensified police patrolling and tenant verification of migrants in the area.
