VASCO: A joint meeting was held at the Mormugao Deputy Collector’s office that was attended by Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida and officials of Fisheries Survey of India (FSI), Fisheries Department, Mormugao Municipal Council and the Health Department,
At this meeting, it was decided to take up aquaculture of some lakes that fall within Vasco constituency. Various points regarding aquaculture were discussed at the meeting.
At the meeting, Almeida expressed his willingness to promote and popularise aquaculture, fishing in fresh water lakes.
“The initiative will include introduing fresh water fishes in lakes. We will start with aquaculture in Baina Lake. I am working on that and it will take some time,” Almeida said.
He said that he has also begun the works of hot-mixing roads at Mangor Hill, Vasco and soon other works in rest of the constituency would be taken up.
“We are waiting for works to be finished on the road dividers and sewage lines in the various parts of Vasco,” Almeida added.
