ARAMBOL: The never-ending digging of roads to lay underground power cables in Arambol has not gone well with the locals who claim to face a lot of inconvenience. Residents complain that the haphazard digging has led to traffic congestion along the narrow roads especially during the peak hours in the morning and evening.
The villagers hit out at the contractor for blocking the route that leads to the staircase of Arambol Bal Bhavan by dumping soil. The staircase is often used by children and parents have expressed annoyance over the contractor’s care-a damn attitude.
The contractor has dug the road according to his whims and fancies and the soil has scattered all over posing danger to motorists, said villagers
“There are turns and curves here which are precarious. Due to congestion, motorists frequently honk which causes noise pollution in the area,” said local motorist Deepesh Chari.
“I have called the PWD officials to repair the road several times. They have only applied bandages when there is a need for full-fledged surgery,” said Pranav Parab, a local resident.
