MAPUSA: Archbishop of Goa and Daman Most Rev Filipe Neri Ferrao highlighted that education should help us become better persons and display concern towards others while speaking during the inauguration of the new innovation block of St Xavier’s Higher Secondary School, Mapusa on Monday. He also congratulated the students and teaching faculty for obtaining good results in the HSSC exams. The new innovation block has all the modern facilities for the students to study, learn and indulge themselves in the field of science and innovation.
Around 344 students, who have excelled in the various fields in their HSSC examinations, were felicitated by chief guest Most Rev Filipe Neri on the occasion. Mapusa PI Kapil Nayak encouraged the student community to show keen interest in studies by answering competitive exams and being career oriented.
“Please do not get yourselves involved in any criminal activity such as selling or consuming drugs in the college premises. If any student is aware of any criminal activities going on in the college campus feel free to inform the police. We will take action in the matter. At the same time there is also a need for the students to obey traffic signs and rules while riding,” said Nayak. Also present were the staff and students from St Xavier’s HSS.
