PANJIM: Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrão released “Povitr Pustokant Devachi Kaklut”, a book on Divine Mercy, published by the Carmelites in Goa under the aegis of Divine Mercy Movement. Speaking on the occasion, Archbishop recalled the year (2015-16) dedicated to the Mercy of God by Pope Francis and the efforts made to proclaim the Mercy of God in the Archdiocese.
He appreciated the priests, religious and laity and the Carmelite Friars for their efforts to promote and animate the Mercy of God in the Archdiocese.
“This book will not only help the members of the 136 Divine Mercy groups formed in the parish/chapels but also to all the faithful to have deeper knowledge of the Mercy of God, and become image of the Mercy of God. Let this book become worthy instrument to proclaim the Mercy of God,” Archbishop said.
He congratulated the Carmelites and the writers for their contribution for this book. Superior of the Carmelite Monastery Fr Archibald Gonsalves spoke on the purpose of the book.
The book contains the article on the Mercy of God in the Old and the New Testament written by Fr Simião Fernandes, Fr Edson Fernandes, Fr Mascon Fernandes, Fr Mariano D’Costa, Fr Archibald Gonsalves, OCD; Fr Pius James D’Souza, OCD; Fr George Santhumayor, OCD; Fr Michael Morris Shennoy, OCD and Fr Joy Painadath of Kannur Diocese. The book is edited by Br John Malvino Alfonso, OCD. The main cover was conceptualised and designed by Seminarian Newton Fernandes and Printed by Anjoy Graphics, Pilerne. Parish Priest of Borim Church Fr Manuel Gomes was the Censor Deputatus and Archbishop gave imprimatur to publish this book.
