CALANGUTE: Acceding to the requests of its ex-students, the management of St Joseph’s High School, Arpora, is willing to let out part of its premises for career guidance courses as it enters the 127th year of its establishment.
“The ex-students approached us and informed us of their plans to conduct career orientation courses for the benefit of the ex-students and village youth in the school premises,” said school Manager Fr Urbano Menezes.
“We have agreed to their suggestion to conduct such courses in a portion of the school premises, but related infrastructure needs to be put in place. We hope to take off with career orientation courses in the school premises in collaboration with the ex-students and like-minded people from the village as it will ultimately benefit the youth,” said Fr Menezes.
Meanwhile, the school management is gearing up to celebrate the feast of its patron, Saint Joseph, with mass in the newly renovated chapel in the school premises at 9.30 am on March 19 and has invited its ex-students and well-wishers to participate in the celebrations.
As part of the celebrations, the finals of the inter-school seven-a-side football tournament organized by Lions Club of Arpora and ex-students will be held at 4.30 pm on the school grounds.
