PONDA: Asmitha Ramakant Gaude has been re-elected unopposed as the sarpanch of Usgao Ganjem Village Panchayat, on Friday.
Earlier, a month ago, she had resigned from the post. However, she decided to contest the election for vacant post and was re-elected unopposed.
During the election, present were Deputy Sarpanch Ramnath Dangi, Panchas Tulshidas Prabu, Sangeeta Gaonkar, Rekha Velingkar, Gurudas Gaude, William Mascaranhas, Dinesh Tari, Sima Mascaranhas.
BDO Ravindra Naik and Panchayat Secretary Prasad Shet conducted the election proceedings.
