Urban Development Minister Milind Naik stated that “whatever order/decision Supreme Court has given is acceptable. Elections will be held as per the Supreme Court directives. I am waiting for the order.”

Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida demanded that Milind Naik should be immediately dropped from his position as Urban Development Minister following municipal ward reservation fiasco.

Almeida stated Naik and Godinho both should be dropped from the ministry for their failure and also challenged Godinho to prove that all his four candidates win in upcoming municipal election.

Minister of Panchayat Mauvin Godinho remained unavailable for comments.

Asked if these differences between the BJP Mormugao taluka MLAs is going to affect adversely on the party popularity, Almeida said “The differences at present are at the higher level and not at the party workers level. I am with the party therefore I want all BJP backed candidates to win to have stable council in Vasco”.
