PANJIM: The All Goa Bus Owners’ Association has made a serious allegation against a Transport official demanding an investigation.

Association leader Sudip Tamhankar demanded inquiry into alleged Rs 40 lakh misappropriation of funds by the concerned officer.
He alleged that as a chief officer of Ponda Municipal Council, over a decade ago, the officer resorted to corruption.
Tamhankar has demanded an inquiry under Superintendent of Police or an Ombudsman within 15 days, failing which he is likely to take the matter to the Supreme Court.
No statement has been issued by the Transport Department as on Monday evening in response to the allegation.
