Assolna locals oppose revision of taxes

The Gram Sabha of Assolna village Panchayat has opposed the revision of taxes demanding that the Panchayat body first recover the outstanding arrears before effecting any tax revision.
At the gram sabha meeting held on Sunday, the agitated members sought to know the fate of the outstanding tax arrears and plans by the Panchayat body to recover the taxes from the shop and establishments.
Sarpanch  Joaquim Pereira informed that the gram sabha also decided to refer the matter of fish boxes stored in the market to the health authorities for appropriate action.
On the question of constructing a new market complex, the Sarpanch said the gram sabha members has demanded that the Panchayat forward the market complex proposal to Town and Country Planning department for approval.
