PORVORIM: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant told the House on Friday that entire stretch of Atal Setu bridge will be complete by December 2021. He was replying to a Calling Attention moved by Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte raising apprehensions about incomplete wok of the cable-stayed bridge, which was inaugurated by then Defense Minister and ex-Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar in January 2019.
“The entire bridge will be completed by December 2021, and the side road and traffic plan will be done by May 30,” the CM said to Khaunte’s question seeking to know deadline for completing the Panjim arm of the Bridge and measures for safety of motorists.
The MLA pointed out to accidents and confusion over changing of lanes at the end of each sides of the bridge due to absence of proper signage. He also sought to know delay in completing the work despite throwing open for public two years ago while demanding to fix responsibility on the officials and others concerned for the lapses.
