Austrian held, four minor girls rescued at Canacona

CANACONA: Canacona police arrested a 49-year-old Austrian national and rescued four minor girls at Dumane-Canacona.

CANACONA: Canacona police arrested a 49-year-old Austrian national and rescued four minor girls at Dumane-Canacona.
Acting on a complaint by a Brit, Canacona police raided the  residence of the Austrian national at an isolated place between Canacona and Agonda and rescued the four minor girls in the company of Gerhard Enterfeller at Dumane.
According to Canacona Police Inspector Harischandra Madkaikar, Alastair Stubbs, residing at Mysore, complained that the accused was moving around and living with four minor girls. Acting on the complaint, police raided Gerhard’s residence at Dumane and rescued the four minor girls.
The accused was produced before JMFC and has been remanded to police custody.
It is learnt that the accused was noticed picking up minor the girls from a nearby coastal village, but it was not known for what the minor girls were regularly brought in by the foreign national to his residence.
When questioned the  minor girls’ parents informed police that they were allowing their children to go with the foreign national  as he had assured to teach them the English language fluently.
When the police team raided the residence at Dumane, the Austrian was reportedly found in the company of all four minor girls and was accordingly taken into custody, while the girls were handed over to their parents, after calling them at the police station, added sources.
Police, however, were silent if there was any molestation or atrocities on the minor girls or if they were subjected to medical examination.
It is also learnt that the foreign national was picking up minor girls from a neighbouring coastal village and the routine has been going on for the last 20 days.
