PANJIM: Directorate of Women and Child Development, Government of Goa in collaboration with Goa Union of Journalists organised awareness workshop on the role of print and electronic media on Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012 and Goa Children’s Act 2003.
The awareness programme was inaugurated by the DIG (Crime & Range) and IG Prison, Bosco George. A talk on Goa Children’s Act, 2003 by Sayonara Telles Laad, president of Goa Children’s Court was delivered, followed by talk on protection of children from sexual offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 by Emidio Pinho, Associate Director of SCAN Goa and also in-charge of Victim Assistance Unit (VAU) Goa.
Bosco George said, “This is a great opportunity for the press and media to ask for answers and get justifiable answers regarding the topic”.
