PANJIM: Deputy Chief Minister Vijai Sardesai on Wednesday acknowledged that his party colleague Atanasio alias Babush Monserrate had informed him of his intentions to contest the Panjim by-poll.
Monserrate had on Tuesday told Herald that he would contest Panjim by-poll after the seat fell vacant following death of former chief minister Manohar Parrikar.
“Yes, Babush has told me; but let us see how things unfold. I do not want to say anything as of now,” Sardesai said.
Monserrate had withdrawn from the race in 2017 when Manohar Parrikar contested the Panjim by-poll.
Meanwhile, Sardesai said he would not interfere in the issues between BJP-MGP.
“See, I had given assurance to Manohar Parrikar and based on that, I was talking about Plan A and B to keep the government stable, but now it is up to the two parties to solve their differences,” he said.
He said, “As G6 (3 GFP and 3 Ind) we will try our best on government stability.”
