MARGAO: Children’s Court Judge Sherin Paul on Wednesday granted bail to a 49-year-old man from Carambolim who was arrested by Curtorim Police for allegedly having unnatural sex with his 14-year-old nephew.
The minor boy’s mother complained to the police on March 15, 2019 that her brother-in-law had sexually abused her son at Raia on February 12, 2019 and earlier before in May 2016 at Carambolim.
During interrogation he admitted to the crime and police had objected to granting bail on grounds that he would threaten the victim, the complainant and also witnesses who are yet to be examined by the police.
However, the judge granted him bail on bond of Rs 10,000.
