Addressing media persons on Wednesday, Comunidade Attorney Luis Abreu said that a resident of Dona Paula had fraudulently and illegally sold 35,000 sq mtrs of comunidade land to the developers from Mumbai, which has now illegally undertaken construction activity.
“When we came to know about this illegal transfer of land, the managing committee of the comunidade approached the court seeking justice,” he said adding that the matter would be coming up for hearing on Thursday.
Abreu said the comunidade has obtained a stop work order from the deputy collector’s office on May 30, as the flying squad has confirmed violation of Section 17 A of the TCP Act. “But in spite of all this, the builder continued to carry out work on the site guarded by bouncers,” he said.
“Builders from various parts of the country come to Goa and buy properties without verifying property documents and after doing so keep challenging the facts using cunning ways,” he alleged
