PANJIM: Demanding a ban on Sanatan Sanstha, former CCP mayor Surendra Furtado has called for the immediate arrest of the organisation’s masterminds and officer bearers for their alleged involvement in the murders of leftist Govind Pansare and academician M M Kalburgi.
In a press release issued here, Furtado also demanded that the organization’s licence be revoked and added that no organization in India has the right to take law into its own hand. He termed the murders of Pansare and Kalburgi as instances of organized crime against free thinkers.
“Goa is a State wherein social harmony is prevalent for decades. Drawn by such organizations, disenchanted youth are influenced by their extremist ideologies. In the interest of maintaining social harmony, the “evil designs” of such organizations have to be nipped in the bud so as to put a end to proliferation of such extremist organizations and thus maintain the social fabric of Goa”, he said.
For every grievance, however, serious it may be, the law of the land is to be referred to so, as to redress your grievance. Organizations indulging in criminal acts should be extinguished immediately so that the law of the land becomes paramount and citizens become law abiding.
In the greater interest of the State, Sanatan Sanstha should be banned so as to foil its agenda of revenge and crime, said Furtado.
