Bandora p’yat asks TCP to revoke construction permissions to temple

The village panchayat along with other officials and temple committee members conducted a joint site inspection on February 8, 2022.

PANJIM: The Bandora village panchayat has written to the Town and Country Planning (TCP) department to cancel the approvals granted to Shree Ramnath Devastan at Ramnathi, Ponda, for the construction of Archak Sankul and Purus Sankul, by submitting wrong plans.

The Bandora panchayat had issued two construction licences as per the TCP planning approvals in 2016 and issued an occupancy certificate for a residential building (Archak Sankul) to Ramnath Devasthan, Ramnathi.

Following a complaint by devotee Mahesh Nayak against the constructions within the temple premises without proper plans and no conversion sanads, the village panchayat along with other officials and temple committee members conducted a joint site inspection on February 8, 2022.

During the inspection, it was found that the Purush Sankul had been constructed having 17 units and 31 steps and the structure was covered with steel sheets. It was also found that the three-metre distance between the Purush Sankul and the old office building existing on the western side was not available on site.
