PANJIM: Director General of Police (DGP) Jaspal Singh and 37 other police personnel of various ranks have enrolled themselves on the postgraduate diploma programme on Cyber Laws, Cyber Crime Investigation and Digital Forensics.
The course is being conducted by the National e-governance Division, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in collaboration with a consortium of institutions including the National Judicial Academy; National Law Institute University, Bhopal; National Law University, Delhi and others.

“DGP Jaspal Singh has enrolled in the course to motivate the police hierarchy to learn and prepare to effectively tackle evolving cybercrime challenges,” police said in a statement issued.
“Goa police hopes to create a well-trained workforce to tackle challenges emerging in cyberspace as a result of contemporary developments like AI, ML, Cryptocurrency and all-pervasive use of computer resources,” police said.
Overall around 1600 candidates from all across the country are participating in the course from various departments including police, prosecutors, civil servants, customs and paramilitary forces. Notably, over 50 judges have also enrolled for the course.
