Mapusa Police have arrested a father and son on charges of allegedly sexually assaulting two minor sisters, aged 8 and 10, in Bardez, North Goa. The accused, who are neighbours of the victims, were taken into custody following a complaint that exposed the disturbing incident.
According to police sources, the duo allegedly confined the young girls inside their residence, where the offence was committed. Upon receiving the complaint, police promptly registered a case and launched an investigation, given the gravity of the allegations and the age of the victims.
The accused have been booked under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and the Goa Children’s Act.
After being produced before the court, the father-son duo were remanded to five days of police custody to facilitate further investigation. Police officials stated that the probe is ongoing and assured that stringent legal action will be taken to ensure justice for the minor victims.
