VASCO: A barge while loading iron ore fines at MPT Port developed a crack and sank late Monday evening.
Eight crew members were rescued and one of them was taken to Chicalim Sub District Hospital in an unconscious condition.
According to sources, a barge which was in the process of loading iron ore fines at MPT port on Monday evening suddenly sank after developing a crack.
Sources further stated that the eight crew members, who fell in the water, were fortunately rescued by the residents nearby. From those rescued, one was immediately taken to Chicalim Sub District Hospital in an unconscious condition.
