PANJIM: It was a night of sheer musical ecstasy as thousands of enthusiastic fans danced and shouted in delight to the timeless classics of the Bellamy Brothers, one of the world’s best known country singers, during their maiden concert in Goa on Wednesday night.
With acclaimed hits such as ‘Let you Love Flow’, ‘More of You’, ‘If I said you had a beautiful body’, ‘Vertical Limit’, ‘Lovers live longer’, ‘Redneck Girl’ and ‘Cowboy Reggae’, David and Howard Bellamy enthralled the thousands of spectators, who had packed the Quinta de Valladares open air venue at Verna, during their 90-minute concert.
Goa’s popular band ‘Forefront’ opened the show, as the crowds began swelling in large numbers in eager anticipation of the Bellamy Brothers, who have won numerous awards and accolades over the past four decades.
That the Bellamy Brothers exceeded all expectations was evident from the response from the spectators, who broke into spontaneous dance and began singing along with the famed brothers.
Clearly impressed with the Goan spectators for their overwhelming response to their tunes, the Bellamy Brothers were also delighted that their songs were popular in Goa.
The Bellamy Brothers, who have been performing together since 1968, are in the country as part of their maiden India tour and had performed in Mumbai on Tuesday night, before flying to Goa on Wednesday.
