The much-awaited Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) Version 4.5 update is expected to roll out on July 16, 2026, introducing one of the game’s biggest collaborations yet with the popular anime series Naruto. The themed update will remain available until September and brings new gameplay modes, locations, abilities and limited-time events inspired by the anime.
The Naruto crossover will be available across Erangel, Livik and Sanhok. Erangel will feature the complete themed experience, while Livik introduces iconic anime-inspired locations such as the Valley of the End and the Chunin Exam Arena. Sanhok will also include all the new ninja abilities and equipment. In addition, a separate Spider-Man mode is scheduled to arrive on July 30.

One of the highlights of the update is the Nine-Tails boss battle. Players will face the giant beast in a two-stage encounter. During the first phase, squads must reduce its health before it temporarily disappears, giving them time to collect valuable loot and possibly obtain the Tailed Beast Transformation ability. The second phase features a stronger Nine-Tails, and defeating it rewards players with rare supplies along with the Reanimation Jutsu, allowing a teammate to be revived once after elimination.
Starting July 17, BGMI will also introduce the Hidden Leaf Village Defense event. This cooperative challenge requires all players in a match to work together to stop the rampaging Nine-Tails within a limited time. Friendly fire will be disabled inside the event zone, while players eliminated near the boss will receive one free respawn. Completing the challenge unlocks exclusive achievements and leaderboard rankings.
The update also adds several ninja-inspired abilities. Players entering the themed mode will receive the Ninja Run, enabling faster movement and even the ability to run across water. These skills consume Chakra, a new energy resource that regenerates over time or can be instantly restored by consuming Ichiraku Ramen. Increasing the Ninja Rank improves Chakra capacity and recovery, while using ninjutsu against the Nine-Tails deals significant bonus damage.
