PONDA: The Bhoma gram sabha on Sunday rejected the Coastal Zone Management Plan (CZMP) sent by the government.
The gram sabha members said that the plan sent by the government has not incorporated their suggestions. Therefore, they demanded that a fresh plan be prepared by incorporating all their suggestions.
The meeting adopted a resolution that the government should accept a CZMP only if it protects the interest of the villagers.
The locals also demanded that the panchayat inspect the rented out rooms in the village and collect one month rent as tax from the owners.
The locals complained that there are some encroachments on road at Naikwada in the village where some people had constructed compound wall by encroaching on road due to which locals are facing inconvenience. The locals said panchayat and PWD should take proper action in the matter. The meeting was chaired by Sarpanch Sunil Bhomkar.
