BICHOLIM: The dairy farmers from Bicholim have expressed displeasure over the working of the Goa Dairy saying it has failed on many fronts.
Addressing a press conference here, President of Shree Bhumika Dairy Farmers’ Association, Sal, Adinath Parab said Goa Dairy has failed to roll back cattle fodder price and is also not convening the general body meeting.
“Since January there has been increase in cattle fodder price and they are not ready to roll back the hike despite several pleas from the farmers. After the agitation, the chief minister had assured that he would look into the matter and would roll back the hike in price of fodder, but till date nothing has happened,” Parab said.
The dairy farmers stated that because of the Rs 4 rise in the fodder, the farmers and the societies are suffering losses. They urged the chief minister to look into this matter on priority and provide relief to them.
