PANJIM: BJP National president Amit Shah will address a gathering of 16,000 party karyakartas at the Dr Shyamaprasad Mukherjee stadium, Taleigao on Sunday to kick off the 2019 Lok Sabha poll preparations in the State.
Shah will hold a series of meetings with party MLAs, coalition partners, and karyakartas to draw up strategy for the polls.
Union Ayush Minister Shirpad Naik said that around 1,642 booths will participate in the meeting. “Around 16,500 karyakartas have registered for the meeting and we are expecting more,” he said, adding, “Arrangements of screens have also been made outside the stadium for karyakartas who cannot make it inside.”
Naik further said that this is a golden age for the Bharatiya Janata Party with the combination of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Shah giving a stable government. “BJP is ruling in more than 21 states. Maximum MPs, MLAs, ZPs etc in the country are of the BJP under the able leadership of the duo,” he said.
Shah had last visited Goa in July 2017. The visit that had sparked controversy after he had addressed a public meeting at the International Airport at Dabolim.
