BJP condemns Cong ‘goondagiri’

PANJIM: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Goa unit said that the Congress has no right to place the image of father of the Nation, day after Opposition leaders protested at a city resort demanding an appointment with Union Minister Prakash Javdekar.

“BJP condemns ‘goondagiri’ and attempt to dacoity by the Congress, late Friday night, which was the anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Congress has no right to put up Mahatma Gandhi’s photo in their office. They are exposed,” BJP spokesperson Dattaprasad Naik said while addressing a press conference in the party head office, on Saturday.

The ruling party alleged that the Congress was setting a wrong precedent by resorting to the unlawful protest.

“Union minister has not come to Goa on a holiday like Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi,” Naik slammed.

The protesting Congress leaders were kept behind bars till Saturday afternoon after which they were produced before the Sub Divisional Magistrate for release on bail.
