MARGAO: Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat on Saturday accused the BJP government and said it is a sad situation all over as the people are made to suffer only because the government failed to create health infrastructure and healthcare facilities in the State.
He further accused that the BJP government transformed India into “Mrutaatma Nirbhar” and Goa into “Covidpurna”.
The insensitive and irresponsible BJP government in the State announces to suspend all activities under Swayampurna Goa. With rising COVID deaths, the Central government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat Mission has turned into “Mrutaatma Nirbhar India”, he stated.
He further said it is frustrating, disgusting, and painful to hear the cries of people begging for oxygen to save the lives of their relatives. I am getting frequent calls from across the State pleading for beds and timely treatments for COVID patients. “Unfortunately, the government is clueless, directionless and without any humanity,” charged Kamat.
“It is important that the government sets aside all its priorities and focus only on saving lives. Stop all other expenditures and procure COVID vaccines on topmost priority,” he urged.
Leader of Opposition has appealed to the Chief Minister and BJP functionaries to shed ego for the sake of Goa and take every stakeholder on board to find a resolution to the crisis.
