MAPUSA: Ports Minister Michael Lobo criticises Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of being commercialised and says it has forgotten its ethics.
“We have realised that party is no more with any difference. At one point, the karyakartas were given importance but it is not the same anymore. Today the party leaders literally ask the karyakartas to walk away if they cannot accept the decision taken by party leaders. Such language and behavior was not allowed during the time of Ex-CM Manohar Parrikar,” said Lobo.
“Bhartiya Janata Party has been commercialised and with this commercialisation, the values go down. BJP is International party but today the party is no more same with the Karyakartas,” said Lobo.
He said that some members do not want legacy of former CM Parrikar to be continued. “Values and agendas set by Ex-CM Manohar Parrikar have been sidelined. Party leaders have forgotten the ethics and values of the party and there are some people in party who do not want legacy of Parrikar to continue,” said Lobo.
He regretted that it is no more a party of karyakartas. “Party wants winning leaders and importing leaders. High command should intervene into this and get to a solution to issues of karyakartas,” said Lobo.
Stating that Siolim constituency has remained backward in terms of development, Lobo said, “We promise to provide basic necessities to the people during every election. Siolim is a constituency where people want to see development of basic infrastructure like water, electricity and road which are missing. They don’t want free water but regular water.
