PANJIM: The Goa unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) slammed the Congress’ Mahila wing for unnecessarily raking up the national waterways issues for ‘cheap publicity.’
A joint statement issued by BJP’s Mahila wing President Sulakshana Sawant and North Goa ZP President Ankita Navelkar has condemned the manner in which the Opposition is dealing with the issue.
“BJP strongly condemns the attitude of Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress President and her flock to use the issue of rivers for cheap publicity. The Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has already clarified that tripartite MoU between Centre, Government of Goa and MPT is for development of inland river transport and all concerns expressed by the people of Goa will be duly taken care of while implementing the MoU,” reads the press statement.
