MARGAO: The panel of newly-elected panch members of the Aquem-Baixo village panchayat, which was backed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to stake claim to be the majority group in the panchayat body.
Speaking to media persons, members of the winning panel Avinash Sardesai and Pradeep Acharya said that they are confident of ensuring the development works of Aquem-Baixo village will be completed.
They further pointed out that they have the backing of the local MLA Ulhas Tuenkar and the State government to stake claims.
The panch members added that maintaining and repairing the infrastructure in the village will be prioritised.
