CURCHOREM: Curchorem police with the help of personnel from Fire and Emergency Services, Curchorem retrieved the body of unknown person from River Zuari, Curchorem-Sanvordem on Thursday evening.
According to Investigating Officer PSI Arun Endro they received a call from PCR Panjim on Wednesday evening informing that a person was seen jumping from the bridge over River Zuari. “We immediately alerted the fire service officials and with their help started search and rescue operation using inflatable boat and continued till late evening but could not trace the body,” said Endro.
However, Endro said that on Thursday evening the fire service personnel traced and recovered the body and informed the police accordingly. “The body has been preserved at Goa Medical College, Bambolim for identification and further investigation is in progress,” he said.
