PONDA: The Borim locals have submitted memorandum to Ponda PI Sudesh Naik seeking intervention to curb activities that disturb the peace and tranquillity of the area, besides keeping it litter-free, as bottles, plastic and other consumable waste is often strewn around, rendering the waterfall area dirty.
The memorandum has requested police to patrol the picnic spots, as in the past skirmishes between various groups too have taken place.
The region boasts of beautiful waterfalls during the monsoons at various places, including Mannawal and Tannamule near Sidhanath Parvat. The locals, who demanded immediate action, say the tourists, many of whom are from various parts of Goa make a lot of noise and cause disturbance, while in inebriated state.
