Borkar elected Sancoale sarpanch

VASCO: Ramakant Borkar was elected unopposed as the new sarpanch of Sancoale Panchayat, on Friday. 

The newly elected sarpanch assured to primarily focus on building of new panchayat ghar with the help of Minister of Panchayat and to solve the garbage issue by setting up a garbage treatment plant in the village.

Borkar, Ward No. 4 panch, got elected for the seventh time as the sarpanch of Sancoale Panchayat. This time he was elected unopposed in an election held in the presence of the official from the Block Development Officer’s Mormugao office at the panchayat ghar. The 11-ward panchayat had to wait for more than two months to get its new sarpanch.

After the victory, the newly elected Sarpanch Borkar expressed gratitude by mentioning that this is the seventh time he has become sarpanch of Sancoale and people’s trust in him, gives him an opportunity to get elected as sarpanch several times.

When asked about his vision to Sancoale, Borkar revealed that his prime focus will be to construct a new panchayat ghar with the help of Minister of Panchayat. He also mentioned that he will put in all efforts to bring a garbage treatment plant in the village to solve the garbage issue. 

Borkar also assured to streamline the basic developmental works for the public gradually.
