PANJIM: Saligao Police traced and rescued a minor boy who was kidnapped by unknown person from a shelter home in Saligao.
Victory House, EL Shaddai in Saligao which is a shelter home for the homeless filed a complaint with the police that on December 22, an unknown accused kidnapped a minor boy, aged 10 (Name withheld) from the lawful guardianship of the incharge of Victory House Shelter Home, EL Shaddai, Saligao Charitable Trust.
The police checked all railway stations, bus stands and market areas and it was revealed that the victim was earlier friendly with balloon sellers at Mapusa. Accordingly, the police visited the area around the Mapusa Bus Stand and the victim boy was traced near the circus. He was re-lodged at the Victory House Shelter home after completing the formalities.
An offence has been registered against unknown persons under section 363 of Indian Penal Code and Section 8 of Goa Children’s Act and is being investigated by the Saligao police.
