Branch fall disrupts traffic to Agonda

CANACONA: A tree branch fell across the road hindering smooth flow of traffic at Panna-Agonda on Saturday afternoon.

The tree branch, initially came down partially, and began to obstruct motorists, especially two-wheeler riders who got hurt in the process of attempting to ride from under the reclining branch.
A little later, almost the entire branch came down, blocking the traffic on one side. Some good Samaritans volunteered to cut the branch and clear the traffic.
Though the problem was temporarily resolved locals fear that other branches of the same tree pose danger to vehicle users, as they may come down at any time.
Incidentally, residents also complain that the PWD is yet to do pre monsoon trimming and also clear mud and tree-roots, which have partly come onto the road at Panna-Agonda, due to a mini landslide during last monsoons. The mud from the landslide still poses a traffic hazard with the possibility that it will come onto the road and cause accidents this monsoon.
