PANJIM: The Ministry of Human Resource Department (MHRD) has launched a six-month bridge course – Professional Development Programme for Elementary Teachers (PDPET) – for BEd degree holding elementary teachers teaching in the primary sections.
The ministry, in its circular, has stated that the portal to register for the programme would begin from November 15 and end on November 30. However, only BEd teachers appointed as primary teachers on or after September 3, 2001 are eligible to enroll for the bridge course.
“The minimum qualification required for admission in DElEd (ODL) six months Bridge Course (PDPET) for in-service teachers is BEd from institution approved by NCTE and Course Fee is Rs 5000 and Examination Fee Rs 250 per paper,” says the registration portal.
The programme aims at enabling teachers to develop skills, competencies, attitudes and understanding to make teaching and learning more effective.
