The Herald GoaNext 2024 will focus on bringing the best minds in business, IT and Tourism from Goa and the rest of the country this weekend

In this day and age of continuous change in market realities and technologies it is a very trying time for businesses and those interested in starting a new business. In such a time the Herald group is organising the GoaNext 2024 a one day summit which will bring together thought leaders across business, IT and Tourism. This summit aims to pave the way for self reliance and economic empowerment in Goa. The event over the weekend will feature panel discussions, lectures and workshops. All paths will lead to the Forum for Innovation Incubation Research and Entrepreneurship (FiiRE), Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, Margao-Goa on March 2. 

Eminent leaders of industry both local and national will present their viewpoints. The panel discussion includes a diverse range of topics. The first topic will be on Disrupting Industries: Future of Business. This session will be chaired by Ravi Devulapally, Founder and CEO of Instinct Technologies, Utpal Chakraborty, AI and Quantum Scientist, Proff Ujjwal Chowdhury, Educator, Director MET Inst of Mass Media, Naman Shrivastava, CEO of Global Governance Initiative/ Ex Govt of India United Nations and Raj Kapoor Founder of India Blockchain alliance. The second topic will be on a subject that touches every Goan. It will be on tourism. And the topic will be feature Suneel Anchipaka, IAS Director Tourism, Govt of Goa, Maria Victor Founder of Make it Happen, Parag Rangnekar, Director Mrugaya Expeditions, Rupinder Brar, IRS, Additional Secretary Govt of India and Amitava Bhattacharya, Founder Director of Contact Base (banglanatak.com) and social entrepreneur. The subject is Regenerative Tourism: Redefining Sustainability. This session will feature While sustainable tourism strives for balance and containment, regenerative tourism aims for transformation and growth. The latter redefines the traveler’s role, encouraging engagement that not only benefits host communities but also contributes to the strength of ecosystems and the preservation of cultural legacies. The third topic will focus on finance. It will focus on Global Economic Outlook and Financial Markets. Global growth is projected to stay at 3.1 percent in 2024 and rise to 3.2 percent in 2025. it will feature Damodar Kochkar, Former President Verna Industrial Estate, Kinghsuk Sarkar, Assistant Professor at Goa Institute of Management, Vinay Kamat, Former Editor Khaleej Times Dubai, Satish Kottakota, CFO Tharka Inc and Wency Mendes, Reseacher and Documentary film maker.

In this day and age starting a new business and handling the continuously evolving landscape can be a challenge. The panel will discuss the subject Navigating the Startup Ecosystem: Challenges and Opportunities. Participants will include Dr Sriram Natarajan, CEO Molbio Diagnostics, DS Prashant, CEO- Startup and IT Promotion Cell, DITEC, Government of Goa, Vincent Toscano, Managing Partner Unzoorba Technologies, Shatakshi Sharma, Co-CEO Global Governance Initiatives, Milind Prabhu, CEO and Managing Director Genora Infotech, Maj General Inderbalan, Retired Maj General and Sachin Karnik, Founder and CEO The Great Unicorn Hunt. 

And finally a topic that will evince interest from a large number of the general public is Future Skills: Adapting to the Evolving Job Market. Adapting to the changing job market requires a mindset of flexibility and adaptability. The three lectures will focus on innovation, going global and being ready for the future. The speakers include some of the most erudite minds in the business. The first lecture will focus on Innovations in traditional businesses: Lessons from the Pioneers. This session will feature Mac Vaz Director Madame Rosa and Verma D’mello Fashion Designer and Executive Director, Goa Sudharop. The second lecture will be on Going Global: Expanding Beyond Borders. In today’s fiercely competitive global market, success depends on finding and seizing new opportunities to grow your business and better manage risk. This will feature Xavier Furtado, Chairman and Managing Director Averina International Resorts Pvt Ltd. 

The final lecture will be on being future ready. It’s titled Future-ready – The essence of building Skills. This will feature Joy Chowdhury, Group Vice-President New Initiatives, Herald Publications. 

The summit will also include two workshops. One focusing on funding and the second one on crafting success. The first workshop will focus on The funding formula- Unlocking capital for your Startup. This will feature Sachin Karnik, Founder and CEO, The Great Unicorn Hunt. The final workshop is on Strategies for Market Entry and Expansion. It will feature Vaniya Dangwal, Head of Strategic Partnership and Operations at Headstart Network Foundation.
