VASCO: Traffic along the NH17 B near Alto Dabolim was disrupted when an empty passenger bus overturned reportedly after hitting a road divider near Vales junction on Monday evening.
According to the information, the incident reported at around 6.30 pm when the driver of the empty passenger bus while proceeding towards Dabolim from MES college junction lost control of the vehicle near sharp curve at Vales junction and reportedly dashed against the road divider. The impact was such that the bus overturned thereby blocking the road leading towards Vasco, causing massive disruption of traffic for over an hour. However, the same was cleared by the police.
The bus owner namely Sandeep Bhosle informed that his bus was operating along the Vasco-Margao route via Cansaulim. However, two days ago, due to some fault, he had kept the bus for repairs and on its way back after repairs the accident was reported. “After repairs of my bus I had asked my driver to bring it to my residence but the accident was reported mid way at Vales junction. I am shocked to find that the driver is now missing from the site and I have no clue as to how actually the incident was reported,” Bhosle added.
