Is the Association of All Goa Private Bus Operators hit by deep divisions, with a section planning to float a new South Goa association of private owners?
The All Goa Bus Owners Association led by President Vishal Desai and Sudip Tamankar on Saturday held a meeting at Margao to discuss the problems facing bus owners from South Goa. Herald, however, understands that another meeting of the bus owners has been convened in the city on February 5 to form a parallel association of bus owners from South Goa.
If bus owner from Sanvordem, Manuel Rodrigues is to be believed, bus owners from South Goa are meeting next week to form a separate association.

When contacted, President of the All Goa Bus Owners Association, Vishal Desai said that today’s meeting did discuss the issue of the decision of the Margao RTA banning entry of short distance route buses to the old bus stand.
“During the meeting, Association general secretary Sudip Tamankar briefed the affected bus owners that he has collected all documents on the old bus stand and can approach the court for relief”, Desai said, adding that the bus owners would meet again to discuss the issue of taking the matter to the court after serving a notice on the government.
Sources in the know said a section of the bus owners from South Goa are not happy with the style of functioning of the Association general secretary. Incidentally, Desai admitted that some bus owners are planning to form a separate association in South Goa,
