CANACONA: Canacona Police arrested Sam Bombay, a Bollywood film director for allegedly assaulting his wife and actor Poonam Pandey when they had come to Palolem for a video shoot.

Later, Sam was released on bail. The police informed that upon the complaint from wife, a Bollywood actress, they have arrested hubby for allegedly assaulting her while they were putting up in a high end hotel at Palolem, on Monday.
Sources at Canacona Police Station informed that Sam has been arrested under Sections 323, 504, 506(II) of Indian Penal Code.
Sources added that Pandey, 29, working as a model/actor had come down to Goa with her husband Sam for an advertising video shoot and were housed in a reputed hotel at Palolem Beach.
On Monday, her husband Sam allegedly assaulted her with fists and slaps on her body and abused with filthy language as well.
The actress has also added in her complaint that the accused used criminal force and thereby outraged her modesty and threatened to kill her over their personal dispute.
The police further stated that they have arrested the accused person following Supreme Court guidelines on Tuesday and by late evening he was taken to the Canacona Community Health Centre for a medical check up while the complainant’s medical report has confirmed that she had suffered bruises on her body.
Further investigation is being conducted by Police Sub Inspector Ramchandra Naik under the supervision of Police Inspector Tukaram Chavan.
South Goa Superintendent of Police Pankaj Kumar Singh, IPS, speaking to Herald informed that the Police Department received a complaint from the hotel in which the accused and the complainant were staying and upon initial investigation they realised that they were husband and wife.
And upon a written complaint the accused was placed under arrest and later was produced before a local court, Singh added.
