PANJIM: The State Cabinet on Friday gave its approval for collecting royalty on iron ore lying at mining sites across Goa as per Indian Bureau of Mines (IBM) report.
Supreme Court in its recent order had allowed transportation of royalty paid ore, within six months.
The Cabinet also approved enrolment of 1185 workers employed through contract (agency in Public Works Department (PWD) into the PWD labour society. The workers absorbed in PWD society will be entitled for benefits similar to other government staffers.
The Cabinet also approved constitution of a pension cell by appointing retired government employees on contract in the Directorate of Accounts.
The council of ministers also resolved to approve the ‘Export Strategy of Goa’ and the same shall be notified. Each department has been asked to take measures to boost export identified in the export strategy.
