PANJIM: The State cabinet on Friday gave its ex-facto approval for availing e-services platform with modules for vehicle tracking system for trucks and barges. The inbuilt tracking modules have been developed by Megasoft System.
The State will appoint Megasoft System for providing facility on nomination basis, which is required for efficient regulation of mining activities in the State.
The note says the State will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Megasoft for 10 years, which is further renewable by 10 years, subject to satisfaction of Mines and Geology Department.
The cabinet note further states that Megasoft was chosen over GEL as it has developed version 2 of the web base 1 software platform which is an upgraded version and in tune of MMDR (Amendment) Act 2015 so also it provides solution to the problems faced during e-auction transportation.
The note also says that vehicle tracking system was necessary as “the unregulated affairs of mines department led to irregular and illegal mining activities prior to 2012.”
