The court, however, permitted Alemao to mention the matter anytime before that if the competent authority passes any order on Silva’s citizenship.
Last week the High Court had directed the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, which is the prescribed authority that deals with citizenship matters, to re-hear the case alleging that Silva holds dual citizenship.
The Home Ministry on November 20, 2013, had ruled that Silva ceased to be a citizen of India.
