MAPUSA: Former Calangute sarpanch Anthony Menezes on Thursday raised objection to the move of setting up of a petrol pump station in the field at Calangute.
In a letter to the Calangute Village Panchayat, the former sarpanch objected to the permission granted to one Esmeralda Do Rosario Pinto Barreto, in Survey No 468/13 and 468/14 at Naika Vaddo, Calangute, for putting up a petrol pump station.
Menezes pointed that the application of this project was never put up for discussion in the last meeting of the panchayat body held on June 9.
He objected to the resolution of granting permission for the petrol pump station without having a discussion in the panchayat body meeting, which is planned in the field at Calangute jurisdiction.
Menezes has demanded that the panchayat revoke the permission granted to set up a petrol pump station at the earliest.
