Acting swiftly on information about the sale of tobacco products and cigarettes near two schools in Calangute, the Village Panchayat Calangute conducted an on-the-spot inspection and seized the prohibited items.
Sarpanch Shri Joseph R. Sequeira, accompanied by Secretary Mr. Arjun Velip, visited the vicinity of Vidya Niketan High School and Little Flower of Jesus High School after receiving inputs that tobacco products were being sold nearby.

Products Confiscated on the Spot
During the inspection, all tobacco products and cigarettes found being sold in the vicinity of the schools were confiscated immediately. Panchayat officials reiterated that the sale of such products near educational institutions is strictly prohibited.
