MARGAO The Camorlim gram sabha on Sunday passed a resolution to conduct the survey of migrants staying in the jurisdiction of panchayat. The resolution was adopted after the gram sabha members highlighted that a number of migrants are staying in tenanted rooms and that they leg sanitation facilities.
The locals demanded action by the panchayat members on the observations made by the auditors in the audit report for 2011-12 wherein the auditors observed that bus stops were constructed by the panchayat without completion of proper procedure.
The locals lamented and criticized the electricity department and the contractor undertaking underground electric cabling work for digging the roads and leaving trenches for days together causing great inconvenience to the villagers.
Resolution was also taken to remove hoardings of defaulting companies. Gram sabha members expressed that the recent visit by the district collector to the panchayat did not have any impact as there is no follow up to the correspondence.
