CANACONA: Amid instances of thefts at ATM’s across Goa the
Canacona Police organised a meeting with bank officials here on Friday.
The meeting was called by PI of Canacona police station
Rajendra Prabhudesai and was attended by managers of 25 banks located in
Canacona taluka.
The police urged the bank officials to provide 24 hours
security personnel at the ATM’s specially during night hours together with
installation of CCTV cameras and other safety precautions.
The law enforcers also asked the banks to install burglar
alarms and other safety measures to improve security in their branches.
“A WhatsApp group of all the bank managers located in
Canacona taluka and police officials is started for better communication and
compliance of safety measures to eliminate ATM robberies and other frauds”
PI Prabhudesai said after the meeting.
Sources at Canacona police station said that as part of the
normal procedures they also met the senior citizens on Thursday and headmaster
of all schools on Saturday in which security guidelines like having an attendant
in school buses and CCTV surveillance in the school premises was discussed.
