Canacona’s COVID patients tally touches 64

CANACONA: With seven patients diagnosed for COVID on Thursday, Canacona till now has 64 confirmed cases. Out of the seven patients diagnosed for the virus, six are from Gaondogrem alone and one is from Loliem.

Dr Vandana Desai, health officer at Canacona Community Health Centre (CHC) informed that seven persons were tested positive for COVID on Thursday taking the tally to 64 in the taluka.

“Out of the seven, who were diagnosed positive for the virus, six are from the jurisdiction of Gaondogrem Village Panchayat and one is from Loliem,” Dr Desai said.

“All of the cases detected on Thursday are related to the patients who had tested positive earlier. Out of the seven cases, four are male and three are female,” Dr Desai added.

“With the addition of seven cases, the total number of active cases in the taluka has jumped to 24 from eight, a couple of days ago while 38 have recovered so far and two have succumbed,” Dr Desai mentioned.
