Caurem’s Raghoba reconfirms his dark days without power, in a video that was not released

Local panch narrates how he reached out and guided the O Heraldo reporter to Raghoba’s house because he was desperate for electricity

CAUREM-PIRLA: Despite the claims and counterclaims on the ground and in the state capital, Raghoba Gaonkar of Cavrem Pirla, whose efforts and O Heraldo’s support got them power after 45 dark days and the possibility of poles after eight years, reconfirmed what he said to Herald.

When some local reporters went to speak to Gaonkar he spontaneously confirmed that his family had been without electricity for 45 days and had even paid Rs 30,000 for a power connection eight years ago. There is a video to that effect and interestingly this video was not made public though Herald has this footage shared by one of the reporters.  In the video Raghoba Gaonkar is heard telling the local reporters, who made a beeline for him. “We informed the (Herald) reporter about not having power for 45 days,” said Ragobha.

Standing with him, the local panch and three others said, “I guided the O Heraldo reporter to the home where Raghoba narrated his plight.”

These words are heard in the video which was not circulated.

The Gaonkar family thanked O Heraldo for its report and restoration of power from the bottom of their hearts.

CM in the house today

“Some newspapers are publishing reports without verifying the facts. I did some research and put my officers on the job. The Power Minister spoke spontaneously of initiating action again the engineers. After that we realised the land was in the forest area. In the past, Special Welfare Minister had deposited money to provide electricity to the family, who later built a new house. In the past, then Power Minister, Nilesh Cabral had waived off fine. Henceforth, government won’t tolerate people encroaching on its land and seek power connection.”
